Pupil Premium and Other Government Grants

Pupil Premium

The aim of Pupil Premium is to raise standards for young people who are disadvantaged.  This additional funding will be allocated to individuals in order to improve attainment and breakdown barriers to accessing learning opportunities.

This funding is in addition to the school budget. It is important that the funding is used flexibly. It allows individuals to access external tuition,  resources off site, and activities or initiatives designed to increase access to literacy and numeracy interventions or  support personal development.

The fund allows additional curriculum opportunities for pupils both within and outside of school hours and ensuring pupils have equal access to the curriculum and afterschool activities.

The individual impact is measured using progress and attainment data.

Covid-19 Catch-up Premium

The Government has provided funding for a catch-up premium in the 2020 to 2021 academic year to ensure that schools help all pupils make up for lost teaching time after school closure.

For details of how we intend to spend the grant and how the effect of this expenditure on the educational attainment of those pupils at the school will be assessed, please see our reports published below.
