Alder Hey Arts & Enrichment
The Trust Arts for Health programme has previously offered a wide range of interactive arts’ activities, delivered by professional artists, to engage patients and support their wellbeing and recovery. Organisations involved include the Tate Liverpool, Twin Vision, and the Comedy Trust. Activities include dance, music, comedy, animation, digital art and storytelling. Teachers collaborated with the visiting artists to arrange and support the activities and projects for pupils in the ward classroom areas.
Previous projects included:
- Author visit – Cressida Cowell visited the Oncology ward to meet patients and families and led a workshop for all in the hospital atrium as part of the Readathon in March 2020. (this was through Read for Good and Alder Hey Arts)
- SLICE Project 2018
- Comic Youth Workshops
- Medical Mavericks film project with Twin Vision – patients across the wards took part
- Dada Fest project – this provided patients with the opportunity to participate in one-to-one arts and music activities for 20 hours. This involved projects with artists and musicians across a range of genre.
- Pencil Pals have worked with pupils on Dialysis
